Course Summary

Are you passionate about motor vehicles and looking to turn that interest into a rewarding career? Our Motor Vehicle – Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles courses provides comprehensive training in all aspects of vehicle maintenance, repair, and diagnostics.

Your core training will be hands on and practical, with sessions in our industry standard workshops, including the new Elite Centre; our sustainable energy engineering hub. All our courses focus on the future, including carbon awareness and electric and hybrid vehicle maintenance, operation and replacement offering hi-tech equipment to train and prepare for employment.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

When you do a vocational qualification you will learn in a workshop appropriate for your subject and you will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.

Entry requirements

Level 1 – 3 GCSEs at grade 2 or above

Your next steps...

Successful students may progress onto the next level in their chosen subject, into employment or an apprenticeship, or, after a level 3 qualification, to Higher Education at the University Centre Grimsby or other other University.

If you are looking for furthering your study, you can apply to the Motorsports College, or the University Centre Grimsby to complete a HNC in Engineering.
