Course Summary

You will study a range of subjects such as web design, animation, photography, fine art, painting, printmaking, illustration and storyboard design. This course is designed to give you the knowledge and skills to help you pick what you’d like to specialise in for your future career.

Alongside amazing facilities, including a printmaking room, 3D workshop, ceramics studio, textile and fashion studio, fine art studio and Mac studio, the creative faculty has amazing events throughout the year.

Course Details

Our in-house School of Art Creative Careers team will guide you through your options for the 36 hours of work experience that is required. Personalised work experience opportunities are available in art galleries, community art groups, design companies and printers as well as in fashion and retail.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will usually be assessed through practical assessments, projects, assignments and oral and written questions. There may be exams in some subjects and your tutor will prepare you for these.

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, preferably including either English or Maths

Admission subject to the successful review of an art portfolio

After completing the Level 2 Art and Design course at the Grimsby Institute, you can pursue various exciting careers.
