Course Details
Level 2
Working in beauty-related industries – Discover the structure of the beauty industry, typical working conditions, and different pathways for career growth
Health & safety, client care and communication– Master health and safety protocols, build client relationships and recommend appropriate products and treatments
Facial skin care – Carry out detailed skin analysis and learn how to deliver relaxing and results-driven facials tailored to individual needs
Remove hair using waxing techniques – Practise safe and effective waxing for different body areas
Manicure and pedicure – Learn hand and foot treatments
Make-up application – Learn techniques for applying make-up for different occasions
Eyelash and eyebrow treatments – Shape and tint brows and lashes, enhancing facial features
Salon reception duties – Continue to refine front-of-house skills
Creating an image based on a theme – Work collaboratively on themed beauty looks, showcasing creativity in hair, make-up and nail design
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The course will be delivered in our beauty therapy rooms in a real working environment and will be highly practical with some written and theory work.
Entry requirements
Level 2 – 3 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, preferably including either English or Maths
Your next steps...
Following successful completion of level 2 you can progress to level 3 in Beauty Therapy or Media Make up or to an apprenticeship.
Successful students may progress into employment or, after a level 3 qualification, to Higher Education at the University Centre Grimsby such as Special Effects Make up and Prosthetics.
Career paths open can include: Beauty Therapist, Salon Owner, Spa Manager or Make Up Artist.
