Beauty Therapy Level 3

Our realistic and well-equipped therapy rooms will allow you to experience salon-life under the guidance of our highly-trained, inspirational tutors. A typical day of study at Grimsby Institute could see you performing anything from laser treatments to a manicure with nail art.

You will develop skills in areas such as manicure, pedicure, nail art, make-up, face painting, skin and hand care with the addition of skin treatments and waxing techniques as well as anatomy and physiology as the courses progress.

Your face to face interaction and customer service skills will be developed and refined in our Graduate Salon where you will work with real clients and of course, everyone also has the opportunity to do vital work experience.

Level 3

Swedish body massage – Learn massage using Swedish techniques to promote relaxation and wellbeing

Indian head massage – Learn traditional scalp, neck and shoulder massage techniques rooted in ancient Indian practice

Hot stones massage – Master the use of heated stones to relieve muscle tension and stress

Pre-blended aromatherapy – Use essential oils safely and effectively in treatments

Microdermabrasion – Provide advanced exfoliation treatments

Facial electricals – Incorporate electrical equipment such as galvanic, high frequency, or microcurrent to enhance facial results

Body electricals: Utilise equipment to tone muscles and reduce the appearance of cellulite

Work-related learning placement: Gain valuable industry experience through a placement with a local salon, spa, or beauty clinic

The course will be delivered in our beauty therapy rooms in a real working environment and will be highly practical with some written and theory work.

Level 3 – 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths

Advanced studies: Progress to specialise in areas like Media Make-up.

Employment opportunities: Pursue roles as a Beauty Therapist, Spa Assistant or Nail Technician in various settings

Entrepreneurship: Start your own beauty business or offer freelance services
