Our Salon is open to the public, so you’ll have the chance to work with a wide range of clientele. Whether you aspire to work in a salon, become a freelance stylist or even open your own business, this course lays the foundation for a successful career in hairdressing.

At Level 3 you could study:

Health and safety practices – Ensure a safe working environment by understanding salon health and safety

Consultation support – Learn to provide professional advice and support to clients

Advanced styling and dressing – Refine your skills in creating intricate hairstyles for various occasions

Cutting and colouring hair – Enhance your techniques in advanced cutting and colouring methods, including colour corrections

Human resource management – Understand the basics of managing a team and operations

Hair extensions and additions – Learn to apply and style hair extensions and additions

Bridal hair styling – Specialise in creating elegant hairstyles for weddings and special events

Product promotion and sales – Develop skills to effectively promote and sell hair products and services

Assessment is through observation of practical skills carried out on paying customers in the salon environment. Learners also participate in written and oral questioning or online multiple-choice tests.

Level 3 – 4 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and Maths

Career opportunities

Salon Stylist: Work in established salons, providing a range of hair services to clients.

Freelance Hairdresser: Offer personalized hair services to clients at various locations
