A Level Physics

GCE Physics A is two year A Level qualification examined by OCR.

What Entry Requirements Do I Need?

Normal Sixth Form entry requirements including at least GCSE Grade 6 in Physics or Combined Science and also GCSE Grade 5/6 in Mathematics.

How Will I Be Assessed?

Assessment is broken down into 3 module Exams.

What Will I Learn On This Course?

1. Mechanics

2. Electrons, Waves and Photons

3. Practical Skills in Physics 1

5. Fields, Particles and Frontiers of Physics

6. Practical Skills in Physics 2

Assessment of Practical Skills

Students will do a minimum of 12 experiments during the A2 course. Questions in exam papers will test students' knowledge and understanding of their practical work. Students will be awarded an A Level grade based on their exams performance and a 'pass' or 'fail' (Practical Endorsement) for practical work in lessons.
